Henrietta Mooney

I have been very fortunate to have lived in both Sydney and the Hunter Valley all my life, enjoying nature in a vast array of environments.
Its just in the last few years that I have settled in Newcastle, and enrolled to study in the Natural History Illustration Course at Newcastle University, not having any previous art training. I have just completed the first year of this degree.
I have worked as an Ecologist since 1995 and decided late in 2017 to transition my love of nature towards a slightly different path into natural history illustration. I have always loved the art of Ferdinand Bauer and other botanical artists who have documented Australia’s unique flora and fauna.
My hope is to always continue to learn, practice, and develop my skills in nature illustration, my new path is bringing much joy!
