Elizabeth Cooper

Elizabeth Cooper has exhibited works in graphite and watercolour in many exhibitions including the Botanical Art Society of Australia Annual Award Exhibitions, Botanica and the Margaret Flockton Exhibitions at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, Botanical Art at Karwarra, and The Art of Botanical Illustration Exhibitions, Melbourne.

Elizabeth’s awards for her drawing include an Honourable Mention in the Celia Rosser Award at The Art of Botanical Illustration Exhibition, 2006, Melbourne, Highly Commended Awards at the Margaret Flockton Exhibitions in 2004 and 2005, First Prize for Drawing at the BASA 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2010 Exhibitions and a Highly Commended Award at Flora Small Works: The Art and Science of the Plant 2022, Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre.

Three of her botanical drawings were acquired in 2007 for the Victorian State Botanical Art Collection, and a further three genus Stenocarpus drawings are now part of that collection. Another, acquired in 2008 for the Art and Illustrations Collection at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, was exhibited in The Power of Plants Exhibition in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery at Kew in 2009. In 2010, four of her drawings of the genus Stenocarpus were acquired by the Art Gallery of Ballarat, Victoria.

Elizabeth contributed to The Eternal Order in Nature Exhibition, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, 2011, and the exhibition Capturing Flora: Three Hundred years of Botanical Art, Art Gallery of Ballarat, 2012.
