Jacqueline Hamilton-Lavery, C.B.L.T., (QIT), Dip.Teach.(KGCAE), B.Ed.(QUT), M.Ed.(Q.U.), began working in the field of botanical illustration in 2003 after graduating from The Margaret Saul School of Botanic Art (advanced), Mt Coot-tha, Brisbane, Queensland.
Prior to this she lectured at The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Creative Industries, including Research Honours and Masters, following careers as Labroratory technician (UQ), Early Childhood teacher, Teacher-in-Charge (QLD Dept Ed) and Multi-Arts Team, Special Ed, QLD.
She is a member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia (BASA) and a founding member of The Botanical Art Society of Queensland (B.A.S.Q.).
With her past careers in the arts and science, she finds it very satisfying working in the traditional sphere of botanical art, blending creativity and the natural science of botany.
