Mrs Macquaries Rd, Sydney NSW 2000
Have you ever wanted to include a bird in your botanical paintings or simply capture the beauty of that bird in your garden?
In this two day course in the studio, we will be looking at various images of small garden variety birds, examining their basic anatomy and the key points to observe to start drawing them with a series of graphite and colour gestural sketches in watercolour, capturing postures and gaining an understanding of their structure. We will then refine those skills for the final watercolour painting as we learn how to paint the finer anatomical features of birds- components that will create convincing artworks. Kerriann will also discuss field observation, photographic skills and research and how this plays a key role for the artist. Suitable for intermediate students with drawing and some watercolour experience.
