Adding an Insect to your botanical artwork is a great way to make it fascinating and unique. In this 2-day course Kate will give you the know-how to paint a bee or other insect as an enhancement to your botanical work, for example a bee hovering over a flower, or perhaps a ladybeetle on a leaf. She will also give you lots of information about insect illustration generally.

Kate will show you techniques to handle insects and take you step by step through the process of painting a realistic and natural-looking insect addition to your artwork . All skill levels, including beginner, are very welcome. We will concentrate on the watercolour painting method and will touch on some of the other media used to illustrate insects. Some specimens will be supplied, and you will be given the opportunity to purchase from a wide selection of exotics.
