Rita
Parkinson, a Melbourne botanical artist and RHS gold medal winner,
studied fine art at St Martins College of Art, London and art history at
the Courtauld Institute, London University. Following graduation she
specialised in educational publishing including natural history and
science. Influences include Japanese art, contemporary realist art and
traditional 19th century botanical art.
Rita is
a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists. In 2009-2010 her
painting Cycas seemanni tours the USA in the 'Losing Paradise'
exhibition, finishing at the Smithsonian natural History Museum.
